Facebook, Twitter Too

There’s always a lot going on in Somerset County.  The free e-newsletter from the Board of Freeholders is a convenient way to keep up with county issues, programs and events.  The county also offers free email alerts and is on Facebook and Twitter.

You can sign up to receive free email updates on more than 90 items on the county website – recycling schedules, meeting agendas and minutes, press releases and more – by going to www.co.somerset.nj.us/subscribe.html

You also can get wireless text alerts for two topics: Emergency Information & Weather Alerts and Road Projects/Construction Announcements. These messages are particularly important during storms or other disasters. To receive these text messages, sign up your cell phone as a separate account on https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/NJSOMER/subscriber/new

Visit www.co.somerset.nj.us/newsletter to view back issues of the e-newsletter and to sign up for future editions.  The next issue will be coming to subscribers’ inboxes on Aug. 30.

“The e-newsletter gives us a quick, consistent and complete way to communicate with our residents,” Freeholder Director Patricia Walsh said.  “It presents county information in a simple digest format that is perfect for today’s busy schedules.”  All subscribers’ emails are kept confidential.
