December 24 , 2012

Police Officer Daniel Conceicao, President

With the holiday season upon us, the North Plainfield PBA conducted it annual toy drive.  With input from the local office of the Somerset County Social Services, the PBA obtained a list of families in need.  The PBA selected 4 local families and were able to fill their entire wish lists. PBA President Conceicao said:  “this allowed the PBA to connect with local families and assist with real needs such as clothing, blankets, and diapers, as well as toys”.

Officer Tim Boykoff and Corporal Dennis Kardos orchestrate the drive each year, and this year they received support from Dispatcher Cynthia Cancel who did the shopping, and Parking Enforcement Officer Dana Biggs wrapped many of the presents.  Officer Boykoff also wanted to  acknowledge US 1 Furniture at 942 Route 22, North Plainfield for donating a mattress and box spring for one of the families.

Chief Parenti said:  “I am proud to see officers giving back to the community they serve this Holiday season”.
