August 31, 2009 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tai Chi Improves Flexibility and Balance Sessions Begin Sept. 10 and Sept. 22 The Somerset County Office on Aging invites individuals age 60 and over to sign up for Tai Chi or Tai Chi for Arthritis classes that will be offered this fall. An Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi program will be offered at the Somerset County Senior Wellness Center, located at 202 Mt. Airy Road in Bernards. Classes for beginners will be held at 12 p.m. An intermediate program is being offered at 1 p.m. The cost of the six-week class is $30. Sessions will be held Sept. 10, 17 and 24, Oct. 1, 8 and 15. Tai Chi sessions for beginners and intermediate students are being offered at theWashington School gym, located at 614 First Ave. in Raritan. Beginner sessions will be held at 11:30 a.m. Classes for “Beyond Basics” students will start at 12:30 p.m. The Warrenbrook Senior Center, located at 500 Warrenville Road in Warren, offers Tai Chi for beginner students from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Classes at the Washington School gym and the Warrenbrook Senior Center will be offered Sept. 22 and 29, Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27, Nov. 10 and 17. The cost for an eight-week session is $40.
