North Plainfield Police Chief William Parenti announced the arrest of three brothers late Tuesday night, September 2, 2008.  Luis Lozada-Salguero, 44 years of age, of 97 Rockview Avenue in North Plainfield; Raul Lozada-Salguero, 42 years of age, also of 97 Rockview Avenue in North Plainfield and Fabian Lozada-Salguero, 39 years of age, of 611 Central Avenue in Plainfield; and were all taken into custody after police encountered them with property from a borough business. 

Chief Parenti indicated an area resident alerted police to suspicious activity at Camp-Out located at 897 Route 22 west.  Upon arrival the witness indicated he observed a red pick up truck pull into the driveway of the closed business.  Officer Pelissier observed the vehicle leaving and alerted other police units to his observations.  Sergeant Stopinski, Officer Bond, and Officer Domizi were able to stop the vehicle.   In plain view of the pick up truck’s bed were numerous metallic truck accessories.  Contact with the business owner indicated the brothers had no permission to remove the property. 

Further investigation by the police indicated the three subjects had worked together to take the property without paying for it.  The three men were charged through the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office with third degree theft and criminal trespass.  The three subjects were remanded to the Somerset County Jail pending the setting of bail by a Superior Court Judge.  Chief Parenti said:  “This is a great story of community policing.  An alert resident called the police in a timely manner to report suspicious activity.  Thus, preventing a theft of items valued at several thousand dollars and the suspects arrested”.
